Announcing the Coronavirus Medical Express
Reykjavik, 25 March 2020.
The Peace 2000 Foundation has launched flight service with medical and humanitarian aid from China to the EU to help bring supplies quickly to those in need.
Due to most regular flight schedules being cancelled or interrupted as the world closes down on air travel, disturbances and severe delays are being incurred with flying urgently needed supplies from China to the EU to fight the coronavirus.
Peace 2000 is a non-profit organization that has several times flown humanitarian aid to children in war torn areas. Now that the EU needs emergency supplies Peace 2000 has teamed up with the Mirpuri Foundation in Portugal to airlift supplies.
The founders of the two non-profit organizations, Thor Magnusson and Paulo Mirpuri have decades of experience in the aviation industry, having cooperated together in the business for over 25 years.
The service is intended to assist governments, health institutions, pharmaceutical and industry to obtain quickly supplies of protective clothing and face masks, patient ventilators and other items needed, for health care workers fighting the coronavirus and people keeping essential services operating such as food supply and logistics.
A website www.faceprotect.com has been launched with information on immediately available supplies that can be airlifted to destinations in the EU.
